Star Voice of India contestant Toshi was attacked in Mumbai late on Sunday night.Toshi, whose real name is Mohammed Ovez Sabri , was assaulted by four unknown men, who hit him with a hammer. The grievously injured singer was rushed to the city’s Nanavati hospital. He underwent an emergency surgery. His condition is now stable but due to brain injury, he has lost power in his arm.
Toshi – who hails from Rajasthan – was one of the final four contestants in the Amul Star Voice of India singing contest. His early and unexpected elimination from the musical reality talent hunt show had left both the judges and his supporters stumped.
After much furore and an appeal from Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Toshi was let in back into the show as a “wild card” entry.
He went on to the last round of the contest, finishing fourth.

I had been watching Toshi’s performance in Star VOI and it had been commendable. It is very very sad that such a good human being be attacked like this. It is a shame for the attackers, and it will be a shame for all of Indian citizens i.e., us if we do not help the Police department in apprehending the culprits and ensuring that they are punished suitably for this kind of crime.
May God Bless our young talented boy Toshi, and also Bless him with long life and good health. I pray to God to put him in good health as soon as possible.

What a shameful thing to do to someone who is into Music and a guest in a place like Mumbai, someone who is striving hard to make something off of himself via pure talent and let me go ahead and say zero help… (I am stating this because I remember Toshi stating about singing in Dance Bars to make ends meet). I wish him all the luck and early recovery without future handicaps due to this incidence. Also I hope the person who did this to him and other folks who are involved in the background fry in hell…
Being born and raised in Bombay, I know the regular folks out there are Nice & Liberal with zero prejudice of any kind… Also I hope that folks who have witnessed this incidence have the courage to come forward and help out the legal system. If you happen to be one of them just in case, do the right thing and go to your nearest Police Station.
toshi i just read about the incidence which happend with u,its a shame to have such ugly and worst peoples in our beautiful country,,,but i wish u to be brave ,and keep biliveing urself during the difficult times,,,i love ur singing quality and i wish u to sing all the time,,,,,,let god to bless u with all good and best things .
